Five tips on confident communication
Most of us know how to hold a conversation, but communicating with confidence is a whole different ball game. I’ve boiled down five of my most important tips on how you can get your point across with authenticity and authority.
1. Understand your audience
Get to know the people you’re speaking to – thorough research and asking questions are the best ways to do it. The more you know, the more confident you’ll be when it’s time for you to speak.
2. Be humble
Being humble is a powerful way to communicate. Humility speaks volumes about your personality and naturally conveys confidence. Take everything as an opportunity and always be grateful to those around you.
3. Stand up for what you believe in
Your values are key to unlocking confidence. Being humble is important, but don’t forget to be proud of your own beliefs. If you show your connection to what you feel and believe, others will be drawn to your glow.
4. Take measured risks
Taking calculated risks is a great lesson in confidence. The worst thing that can happen is that you fail, but the outcome still presents you with a new opportunity to learn.
5. Find your style
You can take inspiration from others, but it’s important to discover and celebrate your individuality. Your personal style represents you – it's authentic and inimitable.
