Our Policy
Our change of mind policy
If a customer wishes to refund the item, the standard 30 day Return Period applies.
We want to give you a hassle-free way to get the correct items so you can kick back and enjoy your purchases. At POLITIX, we are happy to offer you a refund or credit note for a change of mind on most full price and reduced merchandise. The following change of mind timeframes apply:
- In Store Purchase (New Zealand): 30 days from date of purchase
- Online (New Zealand): 30 days from date order was received
Subject to the Consumer Guarantees outlined below, merchandise returned for change of mind within the above timeframes can be returned for an exchange, credit note or refund subject to the following conditions:
- Proof of purchase is accompanied with the returned merchandise;
- The merchandise is unworn, unwashed, unused and in its original condition with all tags intact;
- Items purchased at DAVID JONES are subject to their respective return policies and procedures.
For hygiene reasons, there are no returns or exchanges on the purchase of underwear, swimwear or gift cards unless the goods are of unacceptable quality, not fit for purpose, or incorrectly described.
CONSUMER GUARANTEES
We make every effort, from concept to coat hanger, to ensure that every POLITIX garment meets our high standards.
Our Change of Mind Policy does not affect your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Law and you have consumer guarantees that cannot be limited by us. If your product is not of acceptable quality, is not fit for its purpose or is different from its description or sample, then you may be eligible for a refund, exchange or any drop in value of the product (if you choose to keep it).
If you have purchased a product with a major fault, you have the right to ask for your choice of a replacement or refund replacement. If you purchased a product with a minor fault, we can choose to give you a free repair instead of a replacement or refund. Merchandise returned under consumer guarantees can be returned within a reasonable timeframe subject to proof of purchase. All items must be physically returned either via mail or in person in-store to be processed, in accordance with the process detailed below. If you encounter an unusual problem with your product, we’re here to help.
ONLINE CANCELLATIONS & ORDER AMENDMENTS
Unfortunately we are unable to cancel or make any amendments to any online orders after your order is placed. Amendments may include but are not limited to:
- Change of delivery address & details
- Change to colours and size
- Adding or removing items
- Applying discounts
- Full order cancellations
Please ensure all details provided are full and correct at the time of order placement.

HOW TO RETURN YOUR PURCHASE?
ONLINE PURCHASE
You can return your purchase in TWO EASY WAYS:
1. In-store
You can bring your item and proof of purchase to any of our Politix retail stores (excluding David Jones). Find your nearest store here. We can offer an exchange, in store credit or refund for purchases made online.
2. Post Office
Take your parcel to any post office and return it using a trackable service. Costs will vary depending on your location and the weight of your parcel.

Please note, we don’t offer exchanges for purchases made online.
All return postage costs for returning an online purchase are at your own expense. If you are returning a faulty, damaged or incorrectly described item, POLITIX will refund all associated return packaging and postage costs.
Goods are your responsibility until they reach us, so make sure it's packaged securely and obtain tracking information when posting.
Unfortunately online orders are unable to be exchanged online and will be refunded only. You are welcome to visit your local POLITIX store for an exchange or refund
IN-STORE PURCHASES
You can bring your item and proof of purchase to any of our POLITIX retail stores (excluding DAVID JONES). Find your nearest store here.
POLITIX items purchased in DAVID JONES stores are subject to their returns policies and procedures.
PAYPAL PURCHASES
If paying via PayPal we are happy to offer you a refund or credit note, or a refund for purchases made online. Please note we cannot offer a refund with purchases made with Paypal when returning to a POLITIX store.
PayPal payments may take up to 7 business days to be processed.
